After she lost her sight
Current situation
Clara's little sister Charlotte has been diagnosed with sudden blindness. We are hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst. Thank you to everyone for all your support. You can follow Charlotte on Instagram for updates on her condition/treatments and can continue helping by donating to raise money for her veterinary costs. Thank you!
About
My name is Cheryl Flesher, I am the CEO of Clara Cares. I founded Clara Cares in November of 2016. As of March 2nd, 2017 we were officially a 501c(3). My vision for Clara Cares is to be able to help dogs, cats and other animals with their support and medical care when something unexpected happens.
There are so many unknowns and unexpected emergencies that a fur baby parent is not always financially prepared for. There are also times, when a little support and knowing someone cares, means the world to someone in their hour of need.
Clara Cares' name came from my own Saint Bernard Clara. It is in honor of her. As I started learning more about her breed, I found that there was a great need for a place to go for help when you have found yourself faced with challenges of the unknown. I would see postings every day from owners and their fur babies faced with many different physical, emotional and financial challenges; cancer, amputation, mobility, wheels, therapy for older dogs, and medications. I saw the determination and frustration in the owners, to no matter what the cost, give their pet the best quality of life, even in their older years. I decided then and there that Clara and I wanted to make a difference one dog at a time. Even though she is a Saint Bernard, every animal, no matter what the breed or need deserved a chance. Thus, Clara Cares was born. The need to help animals has grown so much over the past year that we are holding auctions once, sometimes twice a month. I want to generate money and build an account that can help when time is of the essence.
I have established this web page ClaraCares.org to give more information about our vision, upcoming auction events and dogs/rescues we have already helped. The sky is the limit for us. With the help and support of others I know we can succeed. A big heart filled thank you to all that donate and support us in this wonderful cause.
With great appreciation,
Cheryl & Clara
